Hi Annette! Good to finally see ur new website. Quite informative but u need more scenic images inside it. Great place to stay. Accomodation brilliant. Food brilliant. Really a hell of a relaxing place to be.
If you want to do things out of the ordinary ask Annette, and she can organise just about anything. She speaks Indonesian, Batak, German and English. All really well. Combines both worlds with ease. Such a bloody pain for us who aren’t even bi lingual. Just don’t get her onto the german football team. Except when you can remember to remind her of the 5:1 win in munich not so long ago when england…?! Roll on south africa.
Try and get a motorbike and visit the other side of the island. Annette should be able to help with the bike etc. Villages and hot springs abound. Real great view of sumatran rural life.
Great music there too.

The staff were fantastic. The setting superb and Anna, the receptionist actually applied all the lesssons and slogans that people working in the hospitality industry aspire to.

An exceptional place which seemed to atttract a deligtful mix of guests, many of whom were regulars.

It’s 1st time for me to be in tuktuk samosir, waktu itu kami sekeluarga mencari penginapan dan menemukan tabo, it’s a nice place with wonderful view tapi saya teramat sangat kecewa dgn penerimaan pemilik hotel yg sangat memandang rendah tamu pribumi, waktu itu kami memang membawa rice cooker untuk membuat makanan bayi (kami membawa anak kecil) belum check in kami ditegur pemilik dengan sangat kasar dan menyuruh kami untuk tidak check in kalau menggunakan rice cooker, kalau memang itu peraturan hotel fine! We’ll follow your rule! But the way you inform your rule is so rude!!

I am very sorry, if it sounded rude to you.
It is our ultimate rule to keep our rooms clean and comfortable for our customers that’s why we absolutely don’t allow any cooking in our rooms. We have been disappointed a lot of times by local guests that “feel at home” too much and cook in their rooms. We had to renovate (very hard effort to get oil of painted walls) and break up bathroom floors due to blocked pipes from leftover foods in them.
Be assured that we provide all kinds of food (also baby food like Bubur) in our restaurant for your next visit.

Horas! We´re returning to Indonesia later in July (for a few years) and have already started planning for our return visit to Tabo. Berits parents will visit us in December and we hope to show them around Samosir. We´ll get back to you with dates etc.
